Ihkaam Institute
Ihkaam Institute is an online Islamic institute for children aged 3 to 16 across the UK. We teach four subjects: Quran, Arabic, Islamic Studies and Life Skills, live, in groups matched to each child's level. Every child also has weekly one-to-one Quran time with their teacher. Our aim is simple: children who can read the Quran properly, who know their deen upon the Qur'an and Sunnah according to the understanding of the Salaf, and who carry themselves with adab.
Every child begins by learning to read the Quran properly: the points of articulation (makhaarij), the foundations of reading (qaa’idah) and tajweed. Once a child reads with confidence, they memorise and revise independently, and return to their teacher to recite and be corrected. Each week has two parts. The first is 90 minutes in a group of three, where children learn together and hear each other recite. The second is a personal 30-minute session, built around that child alone.
A structured grounding in the religion, taught at your child’s level. It covers aqeedah (belief), fiqh (worship and daily life), hadeeth, tafseer and seerah, all taken from the Qur’an and Sunnah according to the understanding of the Salaf.
A beginner course focused on vocabulary, built so that more of what your child recites and reads becomes familiar. Children need to be able to read the Quran to join, so they start with the letters already behind them.
Good manners and character are taught alongside the practical skills a child needs at home: cooking, ironing, cleaning and folding. Each week your child watches a short video beforehand, joins the live lesson, then completes homework that you check together.
